Last night on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon continued his quest to do comedy only consisting of a nostalgic nature when he did something pretty damn excellent. All he needed was another entertainer who likes to play some music from time to time (Jack Black), a guitar, and some excellent fake hairpieces. Then they proceeded to make every single person who was born before 1987 have a damn good time.
This is because for their collaboration, the pair decided to recreate the music video for the most godlike of 80's ballads shot-for-shot, and fucking nailed it.
That's right ladies and gentlemen, it could only be one ballad to rule them all in a decade of rock n' roll excess. And they picked the one. The one that you fucking wore out your Monster Ballads cassette from replaying over and over. Yep, you guessed it. Get out of here Poison. No time for your bullshit Kiss withouth makeup, because it could only ever be..Extreme's "More Than Words." A song and video so great it still is hands down the best ballad of the 80's, despite it being released in 1990.
Feast your eyes (and ears):
The intro. Those shirts. That hair. Jack and Jimmy doing their absolute best to be the gods amongst men that are Nuno Bettencourt and Gary Cherone. That fucking hair. Fallon even painted his fingernails. It's perfect. So very perfect.
See for yourself:
Alright Letterman. The ball is in your court. It's never to late to get some god damned Mr. Big up in this late night scene, before you retire.
