The Eighties Live On In One Rad Video Game

It's called Drift Stage.  It's a racing game.  A racing game that is concerned with two things:

  1. Drifting your ass off round corners in the most arcade racing of ways.
  2. Listening to cool music while you do the first thing.

Also, it looks like this:

Slow down baby, you're turning me on.

That's all there is to it.

But it is worth mentioning, since it's coming out in 2015, there's gonna be a few modern elements included, like: different game modes, support for custom tracks, local and online multiplayer, leaderboards and daily challenges, all playable with a "healthy roster of colorful performance cars inspired by the 70s, 80s, and 90s."

Drift Stage has been on Kickstarter for awhile now, but only recently did it hit it's modest $30,000 goal.  Recently as in this past weekend.  A fact that seems inexplicable, given how awesome it looks.  In fact, 75% of the funding came in those last two days, so it looks like people are waking up, and also that this game is probably gonna actually come out.

Check out the trailer, it's also rad:

Getting vibes of Daytona USA?  Is it making your pants feel the way they did when you first played Ridge Racer?  Have you dreamed of a world where there was another Tokyo Racing Xtreme game?  Well, you should probably keep this on your radar.

Drift Stage is set to arrive on PC in December. Playable demo is here, and the Kickstarter campaign can be found here.
